When summer ends, and daylight bends,
and leaves curl from their wall,
I watch my tears, like bright sapphires,
sparkle as they fall.
There is attraction in life's reactions,
a give for every get,
but when it's my gain, that finds self maimed,
I renounce my deep respect.
I did not take, I never break,
but broken I've become.
Each day I pray, I'll find a way,
to get through to someone.
